3D model of francfalco
The models were repaired and checked for printability.
There's always room for another 3D printed box!
This was an experiment in
...Plus achieving a 'real' wood effect using ColorFabb Woodfill filament.
ColorFabb filament is great stuff, but it didn't give me the 'real' wood surface finish i was looking for.
So i designed and modelled this simple little chest, spending a lot of time creating the wood grain texture onto all surfaces and faux Dovetail joints. And to complete, i just had to add some hinges and a latch.
Printed in ColourFabb Woodfill and Faberdashery Robot Siver PLA
The file sizes are quite large - sorry about that, but the wood texture surface effect needed a high model poly-count to achieve the detail. I may see if can optimise those.
Enjoy!
Printer brand:
Ultimaker
Printer:
Ultimaker 2
Rafts:
Yes
Supports:
No
Resolution:
Low for the chest High for the hinges and latch
Infill:
35%
Notes:
I printed all parts of the Chest with a 0.8mm nozzle @ 0.4mm layer height
I printed the hinges and latch with a 0.25 nozzle @ 0.1mm layer height
The ChestLid file prints on its end, so i added a '10 walled Brim' to give it support whilst printing.
All other parts printed without support or raft.
Use a good plastic/wood glue to fix all parts together

All files sliced and printed without issue.
